I am a 49yF and for a while now I have had jaw and teeth issues as well as neck issues. It's been as if there is a motorized source of jaw clenching day and night. It overdeveloped my temporalis muscles to the point of changing my face shape and making my eyes more sunken. It also destroyed my lower teeth from the clenching and caused a gum recession so severe on just one tooth I had to get a gum graft to repair it. I ended paying for botox in the masseter and temporalis muscles to stop the clenching and it barely touched it. Its better but the botox was supposed to last 6 months and it its only been 2. At night my lower jaw cannot relax and stay up. If I were to relax it, the entire lower jaw would drop and mouth would be wide open. So I end clenching to try to keep my mouth closed. Meanwhile I have jowls that sag that developed suddenly and a cross bite. I feel like I need to wrap my jaw to my head to be able to relax to sleep. The whole situation causes some drooling but it's not severe. It also causes me to bite my lower tongue and insides of my cheeks sometimes. Last night I also noticed that I can tense/squeez my left leg and buttock like normal, but if I try the same on the right, my leg is weak and the muscle won't activate like they do on the left (I am left handed). Yesterday I tripped but dont fall (I can catch myself) in the house and not sure why since the rug was flat.
