Chapter 48: Fill Your Life, or It Will Fill Itself

"A purposeless life doesn't stay empty: it gets occupied by noise." - Acharya Prashant

I spent a lot of time scrolling shorts on youtube, speaking with friends on phone calls without any reason.

I am influenced by everybody, ex. if anyone is talking about AI I think of her or him as a role model and after coming to the home I am also trying to be like her or him.

When I sit to study random thoughts come to mind and i was blown away by this wave for 1,2 or more hours.

I think studying means reading books only. Hence, I did not play any sport or do any body related exercises.

I did not know why I am doing engineering, why I have to study and hence my academic interest was also gone. My academics were poor in that period.

I think all this as a normal.

This stuff happens to me before connecting with Acharya Prashant.

But when I am connected with Acharya Prashant, first of all I see that what I am taking as a normal in my life is a problem.

Now, I started playing badminton, I study not only for marks but to understand the outer world.

I want to quote some lines in this chapter.

"If you will not fill your life with highness, with joy, with understanding, with beauty and purity, the result is that your life will fill - with rubbish."

"You could spend your entire life entangled in dozens of petty distractions: silly fights, shallow dilemmas, ego-driven competitions. These are not real wars. Skirmishes, Squabbles. Fuss. They drain you, but they don't lift you." "Or, you could dedicate your life to one real battle, the central and worthy project: awakening, clarity, Truth.

"Your life will slowly bleed away. Not like a man who falls to a single sword, but like one who dies from a thousand small cuts."
