Uploading the complete Ub Iwerks ComiColor series (1933–36) — the public domain rival to Disney's Silly Symphonies
Before Ub Iwerks co-created Mickey Mouse with Walt Disney, he was the fastest animator in Hollywood. After leaving Disney in 1930, he started his own studio and made the ComiColor Cartoons — 25 shorts in Cinecolor from 1933 to 1936.
They're fascinating from an animation history perspective:
— One of the first uses of multiplane camera, built by Iwerks himself from a Chevrolet frame
— Shot in Cinecolor when Disney had a near-exclusive on Technicolor
— Lead animators include Shamus Culhane and Grim Natwick (who later animated Snow White)
All 25 are public domain. I've uploaded them with proper historical descriptions.
