I'm looking for a "toy" planar to play around with, budget is at the $225 mark. I'm thinking about a Monolith M1060/1070 (under $200) on the used market, but I see that Fiio has 2 newer planars with the Fiio FT1 Pro ($219) and the Fiio JT7 ($120). My question is: With newer technology, would the Fiio FT1 Pro or the JT7 be a better all around headphone than a 10 year old planar (M1060/M1070) that cost around $350-$400 when new? Any thoughts???
