WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Bladder Stones to Immobility
Hi Yall. I need some advice. I took my 9 year old Pom into the vet for bladder stone removal surgery. He had to have 2 removed over the course of two weeks. After the 2nd one, the vet kept him for 6 days. They had my pup in a cone and had put a catheter in him to help with scar issue. He pretty much quit moving after that.
Over the course of the last 6 days at the vet, my Pom’s front legs started stiffening and his paws curling in. His back legs are completely limp and he seems to be incontinent. He’s very snappish and bitey when I accidentally touch a place he thinks hurts or when he thinks I’m going to touch a somewhere that hurts. I finally got to bring him home without the catheter of cone, but we’re still in the same boat. He’s eating and drinking, but no bowel movement for the last 7 days.
Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do? Pom owners who haven’t experienced this, what would you do?
My options are trying to work with him to get his legs moving again, something I’m 100% able and willing to do. Or is this where I have to say goodbye to my very first baby and send him over the Rainbow bridge?
