As im building my duck enclosure, im trying to decide on fencing. Im putting 1/2” hardware cloth around the outside walls on the bottom. Now my question is should I go with hardware cloth on top of walls and roof or the 2”x4” welded wire fence. My thought is with the larger holes in the roof, less debris will collect from the trees that hang over top. Initially I was going to go without a roof but im worried that raccoons will find them. Hawks are also a threat. Mice and rats will always find a way in even with 100% hardware cloth.

I know that you are supposed to provide clean fresh water at all times, but I can’t figure out to accomplish that. They will dirty the water within minutes of me cleaning the bowl. I have tried chicken watering cups and this auto refilling dog bowl. How do y’all keep clean water available at all times?

Im in the process of building a new duck enclosure that will include a 12x8 duck house. My thought is to make the floor concrete to make cleaning easier. Just use a hose. My other opinion is just dirt. What are your thoughts about this?
