South Central Texas. Just got this estimate from a local driller. How is it that a 1”schedule 80 pipe could accommodate a 4”submersible pump?

A little background if needed: the aquifer around here is about 40 or 45 feet down. I plan to have this well drilled in my backyard and use it exclusively for irrigation of trees, garden, and lawn on my 1/2 acre lot.
