We moved in on October 15, 2024. I messaged the landlord that we would be moving out by May 15, 2026. Never heard back from them so I thought we were good. Then this past week we received a notice saying we owe rent. Let them know again that we don’t owe you rent and mentioned that we submitted our notice. They are saying we owe them 2 months of rent and got summoned to LTB. We also requested the hot water heater to be fixed last year because it didn’t work properly and they never fixed it. We have been boiling water on the stove to do dishes.

What would my best options be to fight this?
