Hey everyone! 👋My family and I are heading to the Salzburg/Berchtesgaden area in the second week of May and I'd love to hear from locals or frequent visitors about things we might miss as tourists.
We're covering the main highlights (Hallstatt, Königssee, Eagle's Nest, the old town) but I'm especially curious about:
Hidden gems — lesser-known viewpoints, villages, trails or spots that don't show up on the usual "Top 10" lists
Local food — street food, farmers' markets, small family-run places where locals actually eat (not tourist traps!)
Kid-friendly spots — we're travelling with a 3-year-old, so playgrounds, easy walks, or anything that would make a toddler's day are very welcome.
We love getting off the beaten path and experiencing a place the way residents do. Any tip, big or small, is hugely appreciated! 🙏
