So here is a crystal blue butterfly rosary I made specifically for the occasion. I make these not just because I’m Catholic, but because pop culture has gotten lazy and relies too much on death to conclude the stories of redeemed ex-villains. We need #TheHuntForBenSolo to remind people that dying to self is not supposed to be literal. And just like in the Biblical parable of the Prodigal Son, repentance can literally save the penitent ex-villain’s life.

What happens when a Catholic craftswoman is also in the #KnightsOfBen - ever since I saw “Ben Solo and the Bug Hunters,” and I spotted how the Christian symbolism of blue butterflies (sacredness and renewal) apply to the story that was set up for Star Wars’ own “prodigal son” as to all penitents, blue butterfly beads now show up in a lot of my own creations. And I pray that #TheHuntForBenSolo helps heal the wounds TROS caused by failing to deliver the happy ending the Biblical Prodigal Son got… without even earning it. Because the kind of love shown when a family reconciles is the kind that is just given without needing to be earned.
