Orders of possession and backlog of court cases

2 questions: 1) We all keep hearing about how courts are struggling to deal with cases and trials (not just from landlords seeking possession after a section 21) but being realistic how long do you honestly believe it will take them to deal with a case of a tenant refusing to leave a property? 2) When a Judge eventually gets around to looking at a case and making a decision is there actually a trial/hearing whereby the tenant gets a chance to speak and give his/her side of the story or does the Judge just make a unilateral decision with no discussion and then issue an eviction order and a date to vacate?

New tenancy contract/RRA/want to vacate quick

Just out of interest, if i move into a new property now that the Renters Rights Act is established but (for example) I decide within the first couple of weeks/months of the tenancy that I don't like it and/or I get offered something better can I give the required 2 months notice so soon after moving in or is there a time frame I have to live in the new property for before I can exercise my rights under the RRA???

Can a section 21...???

...Be issued "during" a tenancy period towards the end of the contract or would the landlord have to wait until the actual end of the contract before issuing it and then starting legal proceedings for a possession order???

Slightly confused about this as I've been issued a S21 and need to move soon but what happens when I find a new property? Is the first 6 months an AST and then it turns into monthly periodic after that or is it monthly periodic from as soon as I move in?

I've been a good tenant for over 3 years, never missed a rent payment and never caused anyone problems. I got a notice to vacate today but finding somewhere else to rent isn't easy in the current climate/market. Any advice? I hate this flat and I have been looking for another property for 6 months but the pressure is on now and I'm being forced to move due to the Renters Rights Act and a crappy Landlord. Help???
