I’m a parent in Peel Region dealing with ongoing concerns at The Valleys Senior Public School, and I’m trying to see if others have had similar experiences.

My child has clear school-based functioning and accommodation needs tied to day-to-day participation in the school environment. These have been repeatedly communicated and documented.

What I’m running into isn’t a lack of awareness—it’s a lack of follow-through.

The pattern has been:

Concerns acknowledged but not meaningfully addressed

Meetings happen, but nothing actually changes

Parent input doesn’t seem to carry much weight

Supports are inconsistent or minimal

It feels like everything gets “reviewed,” but nothing gets fixed.

Separately, I’ve looked through public reviews and feedback about the school, and honestly—it lines up with what I’m seeing. A lot of parents and students are describing feeling unsupported, and there’s a noticeable trend in the feedback.

I’m also aware that some of that feedback has been limited or disabled, which raises questions in itself.

At this point, I’m less surprised and more concerned that this might not be an isolated experience.

I’m not here to argue—I’m trying to understand:

Is this a broader issue within PDSB?

Has anyone actually been able to get real changes implemented?

What worked, if anything?

I’m continuing to document everything on my end, but I’d value hearing from others who’ve dealt with this.
