First time poster here.

I recently replaced my valve cover gaskets and complete spool valve on my 2012 Accord because I had a huge oil leak coming from the front just above the alternator. I also did a valve adjustment while I was in there. I disconnected the battery while working.

After the work was completed and the RTV was dry I started it up and noticed that the idle was high, about 1000-1100 RPMs. I had done valve cover gaskets over 2 years ago because they were leaking, but had to do it again because the spool valve was leaking at the base and under the gaskets so to speak. I thought to myself no big deal because I had run into the same issue the first time and learned that an idle relearn procedure was needed to fix it. I successfully did that and it fixed my issue that time and didn't have any issues after that until now.

However, this time I cannot get it to complete at all, even with a scan tool. I decided to double check my work to to make sure I did not screw anything up. When work was done I used new intake manifold gaskets and a new throttle body gasket as well. All vacuum lines were connected and I even did a smoke test or two and there was no smoke anywhere. So I gave up for that day and drove it how it was for 3 or 4 days because I was busy.

After 3 or 4 days I thought to myself that there was a chance that I put the intake manifold gasket on wrong and maybe blocked a port, so I decided to pop off the manifold and double check and confirmed that it was on correctly, but that there were POOLS of oil in the intake manifold, I had to drain it into a bucket there was so much. I had noticed a quick puff of smoke on cold start briefly after a day or two. My VCM is disabled and when I did the valve adjustment I removed the spark plugs so that the engine was easier to turn over and the rear bank of spark plugs were bone dry, not oil what so ever, and that all the spark plug tips looked exactly the same across all cylinders.

I replaced the front valve cover and PCV valve this time because the spark plug/ignition coil holes were warped when I did all the work this time. When I found all the oil I thought maybe I got a bad PCV valve and replaced it with one I bought from a dealership to make sure I got a good one.

Did I get a bad valve cover? Or does the P0507 code cause excess pressure and oil build up? Is there something I'm missing?
