I wanted to order some cosplay on taobao, and found a listing I really want. I've been shopping on here for years without issue, but lately i've been getting greyed out add to cart buttons that say "purchases are not currently supported in this area" as opposed to the message that appears when items cannot be shipped outside of china.
Usually to bypass it, I either add it to my cart on the app or do the whole ordering process on there, and it reaches my house just fine through direct shipping, but when I go to pay for this one there is no direct shipping option and only options for warehouse consolidation.
I don't mind doing that, but my concern is whether there's a possibility taobao will not forward it internationally and I'll lose money. Does anyone have experience with a transaction that has played out like this (hopefully successfully)? For reference, I am shipping to Australia.
I considered using an agent just to be safe, but I think it's probably necessary I use the platform as I wanted to contact the seller directly about measurements etc.
