What if there was a sabotage that causes a fire in any map? It would be unique because it's a game-ending sabotage that can be really slow, but no one is notified when the sabotage starts.
For this sabotage, there is a fire alarm button somewhere in the middle of the map. If an impostor starts a fire, no one is actually notified, and the fire starts wherever the impostor decides (except near the fire alarm to prevent a softlock), and starts spreading very slowly through the hallways, killing anyone if they are caught in the fire, except impostors. If a crewmate discovers a fire, they have to first run to the fire alarm button and press it. Then obviously everyone would be notified, and once they are notified, everyone will have an ability to use a fire extinguisher and a device that shows how close the fire is (like the danger meter in Hide and Seek). For the sabotage to end, someone would have to extinguish the fire and someone has to turn the alarm off (this can only be done when the fire is extinguished). Extinguishing a fire should take only a few seconds, and could technically but not likely be done solo, but will be faster with more people extinguishing it
The fire sabotage isn't too broken because it spreads far too slowly to kill someone unless they're slow or locked in a closed room. Also the reason this sabotage is techinically game-ending is that if the fire spreads enough so that it covers the whole map and all crewmates die before anyone presses the button to allow everyone to use the extinguish ability
An impostor could use this sabotage in many ways:
- they could open doors to let the fire spread faster and cover the map faster to kill all crewmates at the end
- lock the doors to trap victims in the fire (obviously doors can still be opened but still takes a few seconds)
- could be used to bait a crewmate to the button and kill them, but obviously if a group comes and sees that you still haven't pressed it, they'll probably assume you're an impostor baiting them
- could be used to kill a lonely crewmate while everyone else is fighting the fire
- engineers can't vent but other crew roles still work because obviously going in a vent in a fire is dangerous irl
- also keep in mind, anyone can press the button to start a false alarm (because a fire alarm should always be able to be used irl, and so that a crew can't just camp the button to see when it's able to be pressed)
- an impostor can start a false alarm to prevent meetings being held, but if someone notices them press the button when there is no fire, it is obvious they are starting a false alarm
The sabotage isn't too broken because the fire is only dangerous when someone hasn't pressed the button and has covered most of the map, and it moves very slowly so it is very unlikely
