good day all,
I recently came into possession of a 1979 ford pinto wagon with the 2.8l v6 cologne engine.
for the most part, runs and drives beautifully but i noticed the steering was really stiff
at the time i assumed it just didn't have power steering which was rather normal at the time.
however, after working on the carburetor i noticed it had power steering in the engine bay and the pump was bone dry.
i put a little fluid in there and the steering was light and wonderful!
for a solid 10 seconds... then the high pressure line launched off the pump itself....
i need to replace that line and cant seem to find it available anywhere.
the metal connector bit that actually seats into the pump looks pretty different from the high pressure lines that i have found online.
hoping someone can point me in the right direction as the last thing i wanna do is mess up the steering column or damage the pump in any way
thanks all!
