41mm / 39mm - always hesitate
Anyone who has worn an AP replica knows that the impact of size on wrist visual appeal is surprisingly significant. AP watches often wear larger than other watches of the same nominal size. Even if two models share the same bezel diameter, the "lug-to-lug" distance—determined by how steeply the integrated lugs taper—can vary greatly.
For example, while both the 15400 and 15510 models feature 41mm dials and bezels, the gap in their lug-to-lug measurements creates a different fit.
To give you some context, here are my wrist dimensions:
- My wrist circumference is approximately 17cm (about 6.7 inches).
- The flat across the top of my wrist measures 5.5cm (though this measurement can vary slightly depending on how it is taken).
On a wrist like mine, the sizing feels quite ambiguous. The 15510 feels slightly too large, while the 15400 seems okay. However, the 15300 also feels right when I wear it. I often find myself torn between the 15400 and the 15300, wondering which one actually suits me better.
While I realize the 15300 replica isn't easily accessible for many people, I still wanted to show you how it wears on a wrist of my size. I hope this helps you with your decision.
