I'm in year 10 and am asking help in choosing my subjects
To summarise I want to persue civil (still considering other engineering) Engineering (possibly a dual degree with architechture) in the future, however many of my friends and some tutors also reccomend keeping my options open and try to get into something med related. But its not something I want personally so I'm still considering it.
I am currently taking unit 1 & 2 in accounting and I would like some advice on my other subjects. I need methods or specialist and a science (chem or physics) as a prerequsite for most of the courses I want to get into, and obviously english. My school offers a year 10 version of specialist, which I find fine to keep up with and do well in (but i do know that yr 11 specialist is a completely different story), so I am considering on taking it in the future alongside methods (however I do not want to overload myself). And if we are considering chem and physics, I do better in physics.
These subjects are hard so I want to take something that I like for my last subject for that i want to do visual communication and design, geography or applied computing (software dev). However I also want to use my last subject for something I can easily score, and while I am good at these subjects I would be very inclined to choose something that is easier to score in.
But out of the people I've asked, some reccomend I take chemistry as my last subject, as this opens up a lot of med and phamasutical pathways if i ever change my mind. But, like I said, I don't want to overload myself.
so I'm going to ask for advice, what do I do for my last VCE subject? And do I drop specialist for something easier to manage my work load? Is there anything wrong with my planning?
anyway heres my current final pick:
General english
Math methods
Specialist math
Physics
Accounting
Visual communication and design
