Asking for best practices re students using phones or laptop during lectures.

Syllabus Options:

No devices in class.

Or, Class participation grade declines up to 10% if you spend excessive time on devices in class, up to 10% of final grade.

Or, students may only use devices if approved administratively re disability, or with instructor permission.

More options exist.

I feel this is an important emerging issue. Any thoughts are appreciated
