Advice for post-surgery

I (22f) am having thoracoscopic first rib resection for vTOS in a few weeks. In addition to removal of the first rib they will aim to release the costoclavicular ligament, perform scalenectomy, and undertake venolysis of the subclavian vein. My surgeon is extremely competent so I'm not worried on that front, but I'm still very nervous about the whole thing.

It would be great if anyone else who has had video assisted rib resection could share what their experience of the surgery was like. I've also never had surgery before so would appreciate any more general advice for recovery after rib resection.

I have a trip planned this summer (7 weeks after resection) and am hoping that if I rest sufficiently right after surgery this won't be a problem
