​My 7-year-old just finished his last Rec season today. His coach pulled us aside and told us he needs to move to a harder league next year to keep growing.

​He’s been averaging 10 goals a game, to the point they’d move him to defense for the 2nd half just to keep the scores from getting ridiculous. The kid is obsessed—constantly in the yard setting up cones and running drills. He’s pretty small (4’0", 50 lbs), but he seems pretty good at dribbling. I played every sport but soccer, so I honestly don't know much about it.

​He’ll be 9U next year. ​Does anyone have experience with the local clubs in Central Iowa for a small, high-motor kid? Who is actually good at coaching the Academy ages without it just being about the registration fee?
