I've just been gifted these cute gumboots. It's freezing and wet today. Do you think I could get away with wearing these shoes to a cafe for brunch with jeans and a nice top? I normally wear leather ankle boots, but these are very practical.

I'm a plaintiff personal injury lawyer and returning to work after maternity leave. I am midsize and now have a tummy shelf after my emergency c section and am struggling to fit in my old work clothes. I can't really lose weight at the moment as I'm breastfeeding and dieting drops my supply.
Do you have any suggestions of appropriate office clothing? I'm wondering if I can get away with a pair of jeans and a blazer? I work in a regional office and I'm the only lawyer at my office and reluctant to buy an entire new wardrobe.
