Hi basil lords,

i have a basil that is about 40 cm tall right now (no woody stem). How much do you usually prune for max efficiency and regrowth (lush, bushy, and productive)?

In many blogs i read 1/3 is the magic number (i.e. 13 cm out of the 40 cm).

is that what you do?

What happend when you tried 1/2 of the basil ? does he recover, go into shock/stress period, or go crazy and turn into a red banana forever ?

I'm asking, since many of these blogs/guides are not accurate from my experience. i read too many times that golden pothos is a low light plant (however i put mine in the sun while climbing and he is practically a growth beast).

would appreciate your wisdom. cheers

Vote what this flower looks like the most in your opinion:

  1. Crown (on top)

  2. Tongues (out of a mouth)

  3. Nautiloid Illithid Mind Flayer Ship (baldure's gate 3 computer game)

  4. something else , name it

Back in february , when it was winter, i bought some basil from the supermarket, picked some finest stems, and propogated in water.

Then i planted in nursery pots, after that in planter box. when i gave it enough soil and strong direct sun (Spring), it become a monster (approx 40 cm height) !

Behold 2 month of growth. Feb [winter] -> April [Spring]

my recepie for pesto: gralic, yellow/parmesan cheese, walnuts, premium oil oil.

enjoy

My nanouk , it's getting enough sun, bright indirect, small amount of afternoon direct . But many leaves are huge (qp cm) and totally green. What am I'm missing ? It had a lot of flowers so I assume it's doing ok
