Best beaches in New England.

What are some of your favorite beaches in New England?

I'll start with mine

Long Sands Beach , York ,Maine

Love the sand , the size of the beach, and there's just enough nearby if you need anything.

Rye Beach , Rye , NH

Because it's not Hampton Beach.

Duxbury Beach , Gurnet Point/Saquish beach

Duxbury Beach has been my favorite for a long time. There's something about driving over The Powder Point bridge that just relaxes my whole body.

Now I know Gurnet Point and Saquish are private. I have the privilege of having a family place on the Gurnet. It's a magical place where everything just slows down.

East Beach / Ninigret , Charlestown RI

Nice long stretch of quiet beach, secluded and peaceful which I love.

Bluff Point State Park , Groton , Ct

Again , it's about a mile hike to this beach. But the quiet day is well worth the hike. Just bring in your food and water and make sure you bring it back out.

Those are my picks , I'm interested to hear what beaches you all enjoy and why.

This is for the guys mostly. I'm a mid genx'er born in 1970 and my main goal is to always be comfortable. In the warmer weather I like my shorts no longer than a 7" inseam. Preferably a 5-6" inseam is what I like.

But I see all the guys my age or around it wearing these huge baggy shorts almost below their knees with giant cargo pockets. First of all just wear pants if your shorts go that far down. And second, what the hell do you carry around that you need all those pockets for??
