For context, practice of homosexuality in Uganda is punishable by up to 20 years in prision. While there are certain punishments I find more morally acceptable as part of thwir laws on homosexuality (pedophilia, both heterosexual and homosexual, is punishable by death, which, even though I'm against the death penalty, is a fitting punishment) I find it hard to still support him after knowing he supports such terrible treatment of people. Look, homosexuality is a sin, and the church should not accept practicing LGBT ordination, though I believe they are still welcome to attend, I believe this contradicts Jesus' most important teaching, which is to treat others with love. How is sentencing people to prision for 20 years going to help people to leave behind that sin? I believe that we must find a humane solution to this by showing people, with love, why their sin is wrong, not by treating them as degenerates. I mean no offense to people who agree with RZ on this, I'm just curious to know other's opinion on this.
