So I got my hands on my grandparents table. They had it since the early 90’s and it changed hands several times since they passed.

My plan is to refinish the table and put it in the house. The problem is I’m not even sure what kind of wood this is.

So my current plan is to strip the epoxy off the surface with a planer followed by lots of sanding. Thinking about Tung oil or maybe a French polish to finish her off.

Does anyone have any experience with much older epoxy tables that can share lessons learned?
