Should I feed my cat with a syringe? Vet says no, due to aspiration
Vet just diagnosed her today with kidney disease and immediately wanted to euthanize her. It's really not something I want to do, but Vet said she's suffering. She's an 11 year old Siamese who seemed fine until about three days ago, when she stopped eating. She's been drinking water, but it is difficult for her. Vet said all her blood levels were off the charts, severely dehydrated, has a UTI, heart murmur, high blood pressure, anemia. She has terrible breath and body odor, and is not urinating. I wanted to mix some pate' with water and give it to her via syringe, but the Vet said no way, no how, that she could aspirate. But I was reading Tanya's page and said you should get food into them right away. What would you do?
