Hi all, I have a question for both GM's and players alike.
Have any of you ever tried to create an artificer or potion master type of player character or NPC?
I was browsing through the descriptions in the core rule book as a GM and it peaked my interest. Perhaps even the idea of an antagonist to pit against the players.
Anyway, one of the stumbling points I had was understanding the "trigger mechanism" for these spells, potions, elixirs.
For example, does a "potion of Fireball" need a linked trigger spell woven in such as "detect enemy"? Or a specific action like "when this glass potion bottle breaks, trigger the spell?"
I may be overthing it, but I swear 3rd edition had something really in-depth for creating cinematic mystic items that the Runners could use. I was hoping to replicate something like that in 5E, if possible.
