Hello, I dont really know where to ask the questions I have so I thought id ask here.
My sister in law is currently a week into a 28 day involuntary section at a mental health facility.
She has bipolar and is currently in a psychosis episode.
I knew she was struggling mentally and the day she was sectioned I had plans to meet her for coffee to try and persuade her to get some more help and support, but 2 hours before I was due to arrive I got a text from her telling me not to come and she would hurt me for what I had done to her kids.
It goes without saying ive done nothing to them (i baby sat them a few days prior to this) however my pos abusive brother was horrible to them and has left lasting emotional damage on everyone. I had been telling her to leave him for at least half a year before she finally did over two yesrs ago now so she trusted me and we have had a close relationship since, I care about her a lot and adore the kids.
My question is, how do you think she would respond if I tried to see her or make contact? Will she still be thinking I hurt the children in some way? I dont want to overstep, nor do I want to make her mental state any worse, but doing nothing other than checking in with her bio family (who she is also refusing to see or speak to) is making me feel like im not being very supportive.
I dont really know what to do for the best here and feeling a little lost about it all
Thanks
