How are you balancing personal life and career in Toronto, Do you prioritize the money?
Would you change role/department for about 4.5K more before deductions which is about a 5% increase within the same company? Btw, I won’t change org I’m a lifer here union and DB plan.
My current role is simple, I’ve mastered the tasks, there’s variety in my work, don’t manage any queues, no performance checks, relationship with others is good. Most days of week I just sit for hours maybe reply to emails or breeze through stat or Excel reports like hot knife through butter. Overall I control my time. Work itself is not serious, no repercussions if I mess up, maybe little embarrassment. Life is good and I have energy to exercise often.
New role is client business facing, a lot more serious and technical/legal with deadlines. On going work and progress tracking of financials. New environment and definitely learning curve. Time likely managed more. Better job title and 5% more pay. After taking this job not a lot more advancement though if staying on union side.
