just grabbed my older macbook for the first time in months. never updated it to tahoe, and man… i forgot how much i loved sequoia.
not that i dislike tahoe i use it every day on my main laptop and i like it too, but opening sequoia again gave me this weirdly sweet nostalgic feeling i really didn’t expect
and oh the good old launchpad. :,)
Had a really weird experience with a recruiter today and I honestly still feel uncomfortable about it.
It was one of those unexpected screening calls where they ask if you “have 10–15 minutes right now.” I already get pretty nervous during interviews, so while talking I was pacing around my room trying to focus.
In the middle of answering one of their questions, the recruiter suddenly asked something like:
“How fast can you type to check the answers on Google?”
At first I genuinely didn’t even understand what they meant.
Then they said they could hear “mouse clicking noises” and thought I was looking up answers while talking to them.
The weird part is… I wasn’t even using a computer. I don’t even have a mouse connected to my laptop. I was literally just walking around the room because I get anxious during calls.
When I said that the accusation made me uncomfortable and that something like this would never even come up during a proper video interview, they basically implied I was lying again instead of being honest.
The whole interaction felt strangely hostile for a first screening call and completely threw me off. I didn’t really know how to react in the moment, and afterward I just felt bad about the whole thing.
Has anyone else experienced something like this with recruiters/interviewers before? Did you keep going with the process or just walk away after that kind of interaction?
