Spiritbox - Blessed Be (live during the pandemic)
youtu.beSleep Token - Euclid
This song was the first song that came up on my phone when I hit "random" after being on the phone with my brother when he had to tell the doctors to turn off our mom's life support. I had to be on the phone in case he wasn't able to say the words. They were in Colorado Springs, and I was in Michigan.
So now this song is forever connected to my mom, and I think it's a perfectly beautiful song to honor her memory.
I miss you, mama. I'm sorry I wasn't a better son. I love you.
I still haven't gotten over the death of Robin Williams.
Y'all know exactly what smell I'm talking about.
Every piece of gear I was exposed to in the army smelled the same. It doesn't matter if it was brand new from the PX or some random shit we found in a connex that had been closed for over 2 years....all of it had that musty, sharp, dry, slightly chemical smell to it. I've been out for over 20 years and my duffle bag *still* has that smell. My dad's gear when I was a kid had that smell. The gear I've encountered at WWII and Vietnam displays and reenactments had that smell. At this point it's pure nostalgic bliss.
But does Marine gear have that smell? What about gear from other countries?
I must know.
