Job A, currently working there - boutique hotel bar. 3pm in time, 11pm close, midnight on weekends. Schedule slightly varies week to week. Full benefits - health insurance, accrued pto, annual bonuses. Director is amazing, hourly management is okay. Consistently understaffed. Not much creative freedom.
Job B - upscale ethnic restaurant. 2pm in time, 10pm close. Set schedule. Full bar management duties on top of being the solo bartender. Owner is great. Looking into health insurance, 5 pto days. Total creative freedom. Well-staffed, but with lesser service standards mainly due to cultural differences.
Similar pay, though ultimately I'd likely make more at Job B. That however comes with more responsibility. My last job was the combo bar manager/bartender role and I loved the freedom and flexibility but got burned out on all the responsibility and the fact that I was running the show alone. I'm really torn, but feel lucky that I'm choosing between two good options. Both places are stable, well-established, and have good reputations. What would you choose?
