Montreal Master Electrician Pricing
Hey everyone, 25(M) journeyman master electrician here. Been in the field for 7 years. Got in straight after high school.
I’m a 1 man show right now, doing service calls mainly, with very very light commercial work as well. Sometimes will bring a helper and I’m trying to figure out if my pricing makes sense.
So to start, right now I’m going based off the CMEQ (The corporation for master electricians in Québec) pricing chart. They recommend ~$125/hour for residential journeymen which is exactly what I’m doing, here the break down:
First hour is $250 + $125/hour after the first hour.
If I bring an apprentice of any year, it’s an extra $90/hour and the first hour is $340. So $340 + $215/hour.
I do have a van as well.
I haven’t had a single issue with any client that I’ve done work for to pay me. The ones I haven’t done work for, some have said I’m expensive.
For those of you in Montreal, what do you think? Too high? Too low? Just right? Thank you so much for any feedback
