- Piercings are 5 months old.
- Downsized 2 months ago.
- Medical grade steel. (Couldn't afford implant grade when downsized.)
- I'm not actually sure what the threading is and I'm not willing to irritate them to find out so lets go with external probably.
- Both are barbells, pierced and downsized with barbells.
- I clean them 1-2x a day with 0.9% Sodium Chloride BD PosiFlush™ and a Q-tip. ( The saline used in hospitals)
- I snagged the left one at some point but it's fine and not the problem.
I'm noticing a pattern of people not actually reading my post before commenting and it hurts me in the feels, guys.🥀 I just wanted to clarify a few things:
This is not my first piercing. I have my snake bites, septum, and lower lobes pierced.
Yes, I know they're not healed. I said so in my last post along with the fact that they take 12 months to fully heal. I didn't go get a piercing without doing any research.
And finally, I'm not willing to change what I'm cleaning them with besides the application. Please don't recommend I use alcohol or a soap. I was explicitly told not to use soap due to how sensitive the skin is. Alcohol is outdated and can cause more damage. Piercing cleaner is literally the exact same thing I'm using but worse quality. I'm not going to pretend to be all knowing, I'm asking for advice after all. But I know my body and trust my sources. I can assure you it's not what I'm cleaning it with thats the problem. I'm skeptical about the Q-tip due to the little micro fibers but don't know of anything else small enough to properly clean it with. Completely open to suggestions about that.
Yap fest out of the way; the problem:
I was told that after 3 weeks, I shouldn't be seeing any more blood. Just lymphatic fluid. But my right one is still sore when cleaned and often bleeds a little. My left one on the other hand is completely fine and has given me no problems despite even being snagged at one point.
There's no sign of infection, no excess warmth, concerning discharge, swelling. It's just oddly tender and prone to bleeding. No, I don't touch them or play with them at all. No, no one else has touched them either. I run a strict program around here lol.
I'm not completely panicked about it due to the lack of obvious infection but I won't pretend it's not concerning me the way my right one doesn't seem to be healing at the same rate as my left.
