My son is 6 and just finished his 2nd year of mini mites. His first pair of skates were the adjustable Bauer Lil Rookies (size 7-10).
He needs new skates and I'm trying to decide whether to stick with the next size up of the Lil Rookies (11-1), or go with something like a Bauer Vapor Fly40 in a size 11 or 11.5.
Are there any downsides to the adjustable skates? He seems to do very well in them and was one of the better skaters on his team, while not being one of the older kids. They're actually a little cheaper (100 vs 130) and being adjustable he'd probably be able to get 2 years out of them.
I'm really just trying to understand if there will be any limitation of his skating with the adjustable skates as he gets a little older and better at skating. For ages 3-5 they were fantastic.
