Hello, Reddit PH! I’m a 4th-year CS student (specializing in Software Engineering) and I’m currently facing a bit of a dilemma.

I just passed the pre-employment test for Accenture’s Cybersecurity Mastery Program (Internship). It’s a 6-month program, which is a huge opportunity since I really want to break into the CyberSec niche.

The Problem:

  1. Our finalization of grades is in July.

  2. The formal graduation ceremony is in November.

  3. If I take this 6-month internship, I’ll finish all my academic requirements by October, but because of the processing time and the 6-month duration, I might miss the cut-off for the November graduation.

  4. This means I’d have to wait for the next graduation cycle (potentially next year) to actually "walk" and get my diploma.

My Questions:

  1. Is "Delayed" a Red Flag? Sa tech industry ba dito sa PH, big deal ba sa recruiters kung delayed ka ng isang sem or isang taon kung ang reason naman is a specialized internship?

  2. Accenture Mastery Program: Worth it ba itong specific program na ito? Does it usually lead to a solid job offer/return offer?

  3. Experience vs. Diploma: Should I just find a shorter internship para maka-graduate on time this November, or is the "Cybersecurity" tag on my resume worth the wait?

I’m really torn because my parents are expecting me to graduate this year, but I don’t want to pass up a specialized training program that’s hard to get into.

TL;DR: Passed Accenture CyberSec Mastery. Taking it means missing my November graduation ceremony even if tapos na lahat ng units ko. Career growth or "on-time" graduation?
