Medjed Fanservant
(Never posted anything like this before but i liked the idea of Medjed being tied to the root. I know summer Nitocris has a Medjed theme going on but its implied pretty hard that shes just dressing and acting like him and the real Medjed isnt involved in her shenanigans at all.)
Assassin - Medjed Origin - Egyptian Myth
A mysterious smiting god from ancient Egypt. Carrying no presence, he is the god that strikes down the body and sends the soul to the next life, unseen.
While his role as a divinity is lost knowledge, he says his duty was to smite the body so the soul could move on to the afterlife to be judged. He is typically completely impossible to perceive for almost anyone, but while in a servant container he is able to be perceived fully by his master and those who are close to or have intimate experience with death. Those with clarvoyance or other extenuating circumstances may be able to sense him, but his form and voice would appear nondistinct and hard to remember. He takes every opportunity to overbearingly monopolize time with those he can communicate with. While his master will always be his favorite, if he were to meet Shiki he would treat her like a beloved long lost sister.
He is the type to act in a rather unprofessional and friendly manner for a divinity. As one who goes unseen, he's never had to worry about acting godly, and has spent far more time studying and learning from humans than acting as a god. Despite being an especially fearsome god, he would rather spend a day playing games or hanging out as opposed to being worshipped.
What little is known my modern humans of Medjed is that he was a god. The truth, however, is known to none but him and Osiris. Medjed is an elemental born under an empty origin, much like Shiki Ryougi. As elementals can be shaped by their circumstance, this merely resulted in the birth of a "nothing", a being impossibly close to the root which possessed no thought or ego and could be said to not even exist. Being such an undefined existence, the being should have merely returned to the origin of all things, however, the god Osiris, perhaps merely sensing the being or in possession of some mystic eye that allowed him to percieve "nothing", took pity upon the being. Scooping it out, he shaped it and molded it into the god Medjed using a method similar to the creation of a Guardian Spirit. Medjed became an individual, and served as an unseen god feared and invisible even to most other gods.
As the Age of Gods came to an end, however, Medjed was left behind. He existed, unseen by even the World itself, and wandered the earth endlessly. His conflicting natures as an elemental, a god, and "nothing" resulted in him being unable to find a way to end his own existence. He came to curse Osiris for birthing him and burdening him with existence, and believes he would have been better off being left as a mindless "nothing". Truthfully, his resentment is born of loneliness. The closest thing to connection he felt was following individuals, pretending to be a part of their lives and witnessing humanity at its finest and worst. As an unique existence with an origin of 「」, it is entirely possible he will persist even if the World were to perish, although he hopes this would not be the case.
Skills and Noble Phantasms- Endless Gaze: Punishing Eyes of the Underworld Guardian - Similar but different to mystic eyes, this was originally more akin to the mystic eyes of death perception. However, when he became "Medjed" it was warped to fit his new role, and as a servant it has changed even more to become his noble phantasm. His vision can measure lifespans and target the exact point of ones death, smiting the target exactly at that point. An analysis noble phantasm that smites someone when they would already die seems pointless, but its true worth is shown when used against those who cheat or defy death, as well as against spirits and the like. Also, he can shoot lesser beams from his eyes to attack. Does this qualify him for the saber class?
Presence Concealment EX?: The passive ability to go unseen by even the World itself. While few certain individuals may see past it, such exceptions is rare. Its not Medjed acting in a stealthy manner, but simply his state of being. As a god it was absolute, but as a servant his opponents become able to sense and target him once he's chosen to combat them. Still, if he exerts it a little he can become unperceivable for a short period against even the most aware opponents.
Vanishing Act A: Not a true skill but merely an aspect of his unique Presence Concealment. Erases his presence entirely for a very brief period, although he is still there. Can last a little longer if allies are present, and offers absolutely no protection from aoe type attacks.
Divinity D: While he possesses divinity, his origin, obscurity, and his persistence past the Age of Gods result in its low status.
Connection to the Root A(-): While he remains connected to the origin of all things, his current state keeps him from returning to it or truly exerting its power. Despite its rank, it is a skill he cannot effectively access.
Empty Medjed: Returning to the First and Final Slumber - A noble phantasm embodying Medjeds nature before his "birth". For a moment, he returns to his original state, becoming without mind, body, or self before being forced back into existence. An ability that removes all senses and existence and renders him invulnerable to all attacks, whether they bend space time, causality, or fate itself. He can drag those nearby into this state as well, however most beings would take immense mental trauma due to the experience and being rejected by "nothing".
Independent Action EX: Despite being in a servant container, Medjed still persists and lives. His manifestation as a servant is merely so he may act upon the world with more influence than in his normal state. Even if his contract were to end, he'd simply return to being an unseen observer.
Empty Form A: While he resides in a humanoid shape, Medjeds body beneath the sheet and wrappings is nothingness. As such, abilities that would ail him physically or those that would normally warp or disfigure him have no effect, and abilities that target a body part like the heart can find no target. Also grants instant kill immunity.
