Lab puppy coming home in a few weeks. I want puppy advice! (we have a cat)

Hi all!

My wife and I will be picking up our lab puppy in just over a week. We are both so excited, but also want to try and do as many things right as early as possible. I definitely accept that there will be normal puppy mishaps and destruction, but I’d say my main concern is we have a 3 yr old cat who hasn’t been socialized with other dogs, so any specific advice or tricks you guys used to help in a similar situation would be helpful! We will be picking him up when he is 8 wks old. What things do you wish you knew when getting a puppy? What things helped your dog learn fast? Really anything you can think of that you wish someone told you, comment it my way! Thanks!

Got an insane deal on some Solo Stove Mesas on FB. What is the difference between the bottoms?

Edit: After some research I think the grate may be their 1.0 version but then the 2.0 integrated a different baseplate that was compatible with pellets without an adapter. Someone correct me if I’m wrong though!

Hi guys!

I have been trying my hand at bass fishing for a few weeks now but keep getting skunked. For context, there’s really only one spot near me that you can bank fish for bass, but it’s a pretty small man-made lake that is HIGHLY pressured. It’s in Utah, so due to our colder weather I think our spawn schedule is a little behind other warmer states. I see people catch fish on this lake on FishBrain, but I’ve seen like two people actually catch anything when I’m there. I’ve spent countless hours using slow methods like weightless wacky rig and Texas rig. I’ve used swim baits, spinners, pretty much everything just to get a feel for it and see how they react. The lake is pretty clear up to about 6-7ft, so a lot of times you can (try) to sight fish. I could use some advice with fishing pressured waters! I will literally watch a bass see my lure, and then quickly swim to it, and then proceed to trail a couple inches behind it for a few feet and then peels off. I’ve fished my lures through grass, reeds, under cover, in the shade, in the sun, and nothing! I honestly love fishing, and haven’t been deterred by the lack of catching anything because just being out there is the highlight of any day. But any advice from anglers that are way more experienced might help move the needle enough for me to snag my first one. The only slow option I haven’t tried is a ned rig which is probably my next move. How do y’all approach highly pressured waters, and do you have any video recommendations for ensuring my presentation for various lures is correct? Anything is helpful.

Thank you!!
