Hi guys I posted a while ago about transitioning from a music teacher to a career working in insurance! I’ve done quite a bit of research and spent a lot of time to really think about my decision. I’m 32 and currently work as Head of Guitar studies in Bermuda. I’ve met a lot of insurance workers and have been asking as many questions as I can! The one thing I’m struggling with is starting out and where to start.

I know I need to get certified and get my license but I would like to know if I should apply for this by myself, or do I apply for a trainee role and hope the company pays for my exams and study materials?

I want to sell insurance as it was my favourite part of the tuition company I owned when I was living in the UK! I’m great with people and know I can make a sale, the process is similar it’s just the product is different. Instead of selling tuition, it’s selling insurance. I loved gaining a client but I then hated having to teach them.

I know there’s a ton of competition and it’s going to be hard, but I’m a very hard worker and willing to learn. I’m currently interested in life, terrorism, health, and reinsurance brokerage.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated to get my foot in the door. I’m not expecting to be the best or know all there is about insurance, but I’m wanting to learn and gain the knowledge to do a good job.

Thanks in advance everyone. :)

My friend who’s celiac is coming to visit me this summer and was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that sells gluten free fish sandwiches?

Cheers in advance :)
