Hi everyone,
Like many of you, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of robot vacuum models currently on the market. I currently own a Kärcher RCV-5, but overall, I’m not particularly satisfied with its performance.
I will be working in China for the next two years and would like to take advantage of the lower local prices. However, from what I understand, most Chinese models are region-locked. Does this mean I won’t be able to use the device at all once I move back to Europe? Alternatively, I’ve seen international models available on Chinese platforms for a slightly higher price. This raises two questions: Would I be able to use an international model while living in China? And if I buy a Chinese model, should I assume it will only be useful for the two years I’m here, or are there specific models that can be bypassed or used abroad later?
My apartment has a mix of hardwood, stone floors, and carpets. I also have a low door sill that the robot needs to climb over. Additionally, I have a cat, so there is often a lot of cat toy clutter on the floor.
I’m currently leaning towards the Chinese equivalent of the Roborock Saros 20 Sonic (G30S Pro), as Dreame seems to have recurring issues with their flagship models (based on product reviews I've read). I also use the Xiami Home App for humidifiers and the washing machine, so I guess it would be easier to integrate the Roborock? That said, I’m open to any other suggestions I should consider!
Thanks for your help!
