First time poster here, and I'm hoping some of y'all might have experience in what I'm hoping to put together!
I'm currently assembling a portable GMRS base station with some budget options for my friends and myself while out camping. We're each GMRS licensed via FCC, and we have UV-5X's programmed already, so this is more just a budget setup for fun at camp.
I've just purchased/built:
- BTECH GMRS-50V2
- Nagoya UT-72G Antenna
- Home-assembled pole system for antenna clearance of nearby trees
My questions here are:
What standalone power system (small enough to lug a few miles) can I hook this setup to that will at least last a few hours without recharging?
Has anyone done a similar setup that I can take notes from?
