hi! im trying to get into concert photography, and theres a show at a very small local venue that I want to shoot. the venue has a capacity of about 750 people, and requires a media pass for all professional cameras. the bands that are playing arent small ones though, the headliner has roughly 1mil monthly listeners on spotify.
i want to ask,
- do I need to find a publication to shoot for to apply for a media pass for a show this small?
- this would be my first time shooting a concert, should I include that im trying to get into music photography and building a portfolio?
- also, im 16 but have been doing photography since around 4th grade so I can take some pretty solid photos, but do I need to mention my age at all? (also the show doesnt have age restrictions)
- any general tips for going about this or how to approach requesting for a media pass?
any tips or insight would be greatly appreciated!!
