My cat has these episodes on and off where it sounds like its an EFFORT to breathe for him. Usually they pass after a few hours or a day. This time, its been 3 days off and on of this. Theres still nothing lodged in his throat and if he lays down it gets easier for him to breathe. The sound is like when a super congested person snorts everything back up but his base line is wheezing unless hes lying down which then his breathing sounds fine BUT he is mouth breathing. Hes usually a VERY active cat, but because of his breathing he also cant even run the stairs like he usually would.

Ive had him tested for allergies and we've tried different medications but nothing has helped.

Hes also gone under for exploratory examination in his throat and air ways and nothing was found aside from a paralyzed flap in his throat.

What im wondering is if this time is different.

I cant afford a massive vet bill but I also hate seeming him like this and I was wondering what may be the thoughts or comments on this. Or if anyone knows of something that may help him? Im probabaly shooting in the dark here but my vet also doesnt open up till monday..
