I’m supposed to get a thyroidectomy at the end of the year and I’m quite worried to go under.
I have a few heart conditions:
2:1 nocturnal block (apparently vagally mediated)
Usually heating in a 1st degree during the day
Early repolarisation
Aortic root aneurysm
I’m mostly worried about the electrical side of my heart, especially considering the ENT surgeon performs a valsalva during surgery - I’m worried about this dropping my heart rate or putting me into a higher degree block / causing cardiac arrest.
Do my conditions increase my risk greatly, and if so, how quickly could any issue be treated should it arise?
I apologise if it sounds a bit silly, I’m just very worried.
