My cat and dog get along fairly well and play together gently. The dog never hurt the cat before, but suddenly today, my dog attacked my cat under the dining table at lunch, and I do not know the reason (possibly related to food, but I didn't see any food on the floor). It was very brief, and the cat escaped, but right after, he was limping in his right front leg, and held it up in the air when sitting or standing. Now it is later in the day, and he seems mostly fine, eating, walking and sitting normally unless you prod his foot, then he is upset. Should I bring him to the vet? And how can I make him trust the dog again?
