Rewatching the show for the 100th time and on this incredible episode this shit really stood out to me.

There is nothing about Aang that suggests he would decide to play as hard as he could and destroy everyone else, making the game completely unfair. They didn’t even give him a chance to see if they could still play a fun and fair game. Fake ass friends

If anything him having his tattoos already before everyone else should have put him at an advantage even before the avatar stuff.
