One of the ways I see people get a golden fishing rod early by feeding the angler to an alligator, though it’s never worked for me. I know a way of getting it is through completing 30 quests but tbh by the time I get that done I don’t need it really anymore. I don’t know if it’s like an other mod that makes the golden fishing rod drop or a calamity thing.

I’ve seen it drop only once in one of my worlds and that’s from the exo mechs killing the angler.
