My disc drive mostly works fine but it does have its issues and ik im gonna have to get it replaced. Thing is, im getting a lot of mixed answers. With my model do I need to do any kind of remarrying, or am I lucky and this is basically a plug and play kinda situation and I can just replace the disc drive, connect it and its good?

I remember when this game came out it got a lot of hate. Back then i thought it was fun and my opinion hasn't changed so far. Yes it has its flaws but it absolutely didn't deserve the hate. Tbh i'd love another RE game like this if Capcom treats it as a proper game and not a cash grab like Umbrella Corps, and resistance. Like it obviously could be its own thing, it doesn't have to be cannon. I can see improvements that would make it a more fun experience.

Idk i like the idea of being an umbrella operative being sent on missions in a small squad throughout Raccoon city. Maybe even more locations too, and if they do wanna throw in non cannon stuff they could be labeled as "what if's" just as a fun little alternative. Walking through more parts of Raccoon city is pretty eerie at times since you really only know the Police Station and that one gas station on the outskirts.

First lemme just say i absolutely LOVE GTA 4 so much. I love how alive the game feels, the little details that's packed in this game. Not saying it doesn't have flaws, but i still enjoy playing it.

What's interesting is i've learned recently that for the PS3, a lot of games were actually XBOX 360 ports because the PS3 was too overly complicated at the time and making games were difficult. Making games look worse or performed worse than the 360. I noticed this way more replaying GTA 4 on my PS3. In 2021 i got an XBOX ONE S (It flat out died outta nowhere in 2024, so now i actually gotta bring out old consoles rip) and i thought the console made GTA 4 look better despite claiming to be the 360 version. I got it just to have more ways to play GTA 4, and it performed significantly better than the PS3. Turns out, it really is just the 360 version and it felt so much cleaner. The frame rate (i'll admit, the console probably made it 60 cause its more advanced), the render distance, the textures, and overall performance is noticeably better. Now do i hate the PS3 version? Hell no, i'm just more fascinated from a technical standpoint. Which brings me to another thing:

I would love a port of the game to modern consoles, kinda like how RDR was done. Obviously stuff like the multiplayer will be cut but honestly i'd pay for it. Games like this should be more accessible. Though its really just looking at Sony telling em to understand backwards compatibility lol. I just hope it happens at some point (and if it does happen, for Rockstar to not remove anything and just have better resolution and performance)
