Hi y'all - as someone experiencing something similar to what the 2 individuals in Mother Mary experience in the movie, I wanted to run a thought I had by y'all and get your perspective on it.

After leaving the movie I kept asking myself why they made Anne Hathaway literally cut her chest open to "remove" the "ghost"... surely there were less crazy ways to handle it?

I came to the conclusion that it's to show how unrelatably insane it feels to love someone so deeply, to feel so weighed down, and how unrelenting it is trying to move on. They showed her leaving the home with cops and fans around, and surely the headlines would have been that she's lost her marbles. Only the two that experience it can understand how real the "ghost" is and how deep you have to dig to move past it. To them it made sense, it was necessary, but to everyone else they're crazy.

idk maybe I'm reaching and way off... what are your thoughts on it?
